Narrow chimney step compliant with PN-EN 516
Narrow chimney step
The narrow chimney step is a roof access element with anti-slip embossing, intended for direct roof access. It includes a grip that helps the user move along the slope of the roof.
The product is covered by the European PN-EN 516 standard, which defines requirements for shape as well as static and dynamic strength.
Some manufacturers reduce costs by ignoring applicable requirements and making unauthorized changes to the step structure. Such changes directly affect functionality and reduce safety.
The most common change is the lack of side strips along both longitudinal edges. According to PN-EN 516, point 6.4, fig. 4, these strips should protrude by at least 2 cm. The drawings below show a correct structure and a structure that does not comply with the standard.
